Typical Accountabilities:
• Plans and reviews the performance of Safety, Health and Environment and other function teams within area of responsibility
• Plans, manages and controls overall allocation of resources
• Oversees delivery of outputs for Safety, Health and Environment function
• Directs new initiatives and improvement programmes aimed at ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, technical excellence and improving cost-effectiveness
• Recruits, defines goals, sets and manages performance standards for a multi-functional team able to deliver projects or programmes to time, cost and quality standards
• Leads a multi-disciplinary team defining and achieving Safety, Health and Environmental regulatory compliance and work standards and associated procedures, to ensure the assets meet business needs and satisfy external regulators
• Manages the interface with relevant external regulatory bodies and will maintain effective community liaison on all aspects of Safety, Health and Environment
• Leads, defines and gains approval of business needs and the translation of these needs into specific resource requirements
• Coaches and develops professional aspects of all Process Execution Team members
• Develops senior level contacts in order to resolve issues, optimise business performance and develop future improvement opportunities

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Degree qualified and further qualifications in a scientific/engineering discipline; Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical industry; Proven leadership experience in a Safety, Health and Environment function; Communication skills and ability to influence others; Comfort with risk and ambiguous situations; Good appreciation of Safety, Health and Environment processes and policies,; Senior management, consultancy or advisory experience in influencing strategy; Significant experience in people management and networking in a matrix organisation and in managing financial budgets; Full and detailed knowledge of all relevant Safety, Health and Environment legislation
• Desirable: Significant experience in a Safety Health and Environment department or related discipline

Annual base salary for this position ranges from 139,136.00 to 182,616.00.
